Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Manage incoming calls using phone systems, addressing inquiries, and directing calls as necessary.
- Schedule appointments effectively using medical scheduling software, ensuring optimal patient flow.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems. We use NextGen for rheumatology.
- Assist with insurance claims and ensure compliance with Medicare regulations.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth communication regarding patient care.
- Ensure the medical office is organized and well-maintained at all times.
Experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare setting.
- Experience with to streamline operations.
- Proficiency in using computerized scheduling systems to manage appointments efficiently.
- Previous experience in clerical roles within a medical environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of coding practices related to insurance billing is a plus.
