Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by managing administrative tasks and providing exceptional support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires , scheduling systems, and clerical duties, making it essential for maintaining an efficient and organized office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Manage incoming calls using phone systems, addressing inquiries, and directing calls as necessary.
  • Schedule appointments effectively using medical scheduling software, ensuring optimal patient flow.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems. We use NextGen for rheumatology.
  • Assist with insurance claims and ensure compliance with Medicare regulations.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth communication regarding patient care.
  • Ensure the medical office is organized and well-maintained at all times.

Experience

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare setting.
  • Experience with to streamline operations.
  • Proficiency in using computerized scheduling systems to manage appointments efficiently.
  • Previous experience in clerical roles within a medical environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of coding practices related to insurance billing is a plus.

Pay: $20.14 - $25.00 per hour
