Reporting to the Director, Small Business Development Center, within the Cotsakos College of Business, the Project Manager is responsible for assisting in driving the successful implementation of the program and counseling clients looking to start, grow or expand a business by providing the necessary resources.
This position is grant funded and contingent upon the availability of supporting grant funds. Hybrid remote work may be available depending upon institutional and operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists clients in registering for our services online, answering inquiries, and providing guidance as needed.
- Coordinates with internal teams to ensure seamless scheduling and timely delivery of services to clients.
- Provides information and materials on the requirements for starting a business.
- Markets individual programs and classes offered and ensures timely schedule of the program on our various social media and marketing platforms; Maintains the SBDC website.
- Conducts market research (geographical, industry etc.) on behalf of clients to support counselor efforts in providing appropriate guidance.
- Attends client events and conferences representing SBDC and markets its offerings through networking; some travel evenings and weekends required.
- Supports the coordination, planning and successful implementation of the center annual business events and trainings.
- Serves as a liaison between university finance department and consultants to ensure timely enrollment and processing of Accounts Payable.
- Evaluates instructors / consultants invoices for business services and processes them for payment.
- Compiles data and prepares monthly impact reports using Excel to monitor loan activity and project budgets; assists with assessment of the program.
- Oversees all projects through completion, developing timelines and monitoring the budget.
- Works with appropriate University staff to ensure project timeline are met.
- Teaches the Business Start-Up class for numerous clients, as necessary.
- Supervises the work of graduate assistants and other SBDC employees as appropriate.
- Serves as the liaison to other WPU departments to ensure the successful flow of Center work.
- Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.
