Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree required B. Experience: Background in Administration/Supervision C. Abilities
- Independent decision making, ability to exercise good judgment, accuracy, flexibility and well developed critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work in an environment of shifting priorities, frequent, interruptions, hectic pace, high level of interaction with students, staff and/or the public;
- Working knowledge of WP computer software programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle highly confidential matters and materials with discretion
- Ability to work independently as well as be a collaborative team player in completing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines;
- Excellent customer service skills including phone and in-person reception etiquette;
- Willing to work long hours
Performance Responsibilities
- Represents the University in a positive manner with prospective, current, and former students, employees, and the community.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude in meeting and dealing effectively and courteously with students, other personnel, and all members of the community.
- Support and monitor the recruitment work of the coaching staff to ensure enrollment and retention of qualified student-athletes. Additionally, support the development of short-term and long-range plans for recruitment efforts through working collaboratively with the admissions department.
- Provide leadership and sound decision-making with regard to all athletics department matters, including budgeting and fiscal affairs, personnel, strategic planning, facilities, public relations, and general operations.
- Works as a TEAM member
- Ensure an environment that promotes student-athlete health and welfare and a commitment to strong academic values.
- Be a liaison between faculty, staff, athletic department, student body and administration.
- This position will require extensive weekend and evening hours.
- Oversee all aspects of Athletic Department and includes oversight of the PAC.
- Attend NAIA Conference and NAIA meetings as needed. Also, attend conference meetings as required.
- Develop, submit, and monitor the annual budget for the department of athletics, including reviewing individual sport budgets, including requests for supplies, equipment, and personnel. Confer with coaches and approve schedules of all athletics events.
- Will support the performance evaluation system established by William Penn University and do evaluations of your subordinates as per the guidelines established.
- Perform responsibilities of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and attend annual training.
- Focus on achieving financial stability for University.
- Onboard and develop coaches and staff, providing feedback, guidance, mentorship, support, and challenge to coaches in an ongoing way, setting standards for performance that reflect proper conduct, both by coaching staff and players.
- Consistently pursues career development.
- Assumes duties assigned by President in his/her absence.
- Other duties as assigned by President.
