Preschool Dually Certified Teacher
Ashland Preschool is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a dually-certified classroom teacher. Our inclusive classrooms provide a high teacher-to-student ratio that supports scaffolding the curriculum to meet the foundational learning needs of all our students, in an individualized and small group setting.
Classrooms provide a play-based learning environment that focuses on all aspects of development and IEP programming in meaningful learning moments. Our program provides inclusion opportunities based on individual student profiles.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and facilitation of early childhood and special education curriculum.
- Monitoring and assessment of students’ understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instructions, materials, data collection and/ or assessments, when appropriate for all learners.
- Supports student learning and growth across all areas of development. Provide instructional support including toileting, lifting, self-feeding, etc.
- Responsible for the effective management of the classroom environment.
- Responsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies to increase student engagement and learning.
- Provides research-based specialized instructions to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP by using various techniques.
- Assess student progress and determine the need for additional reinforcement or adjustment to instructional techniques.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, data collection, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
- Collaborate with the educational team to coordinate high-quality interventions and instruction, to ensure accommodations and modifications are made for students on IEPs.
- Communicates regularly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by the Building Administration/SPED coordinator.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Early Childhood development, curriculum, skills, and overall child development.
- Knowledge of Special Education regulations, principles, and how to differentiate for specific student programming.
- Ability to utilize computer network systems and software.
