William Ryan Homes is seeking an ambitious or aspiring Controller to join our leadership team as the Corporate Controller. We are an award-winning residential homebuilder with operations in Chicago, Dallas, Tampa, Ft. Myers, and Phoenix.
The Controller is responsible for managing a growing team of Accounting and HR professionals in all areas relating to accounting, corporate and financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
This includes financial reporting, oversight of the day-to-day operation of the department, and the production of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. This integral manager implements and maintains the necessary controls in operations, systems, policies, and processes for optimal efficiency and risk avoidance for the company.
This candidate will play a key leadership role in a rapidly growing organization. Experience in the construction industry and Hyphen ERP would be valuable but not a necessity. - Monitor the financial performance of the company including daily cash position and lines of credit
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- Compile and analyze financial reporting packages in a timely manner including communication of financial metrics to senior management
- Provide leadership and support to Accounting, HR, and IT professionals
- Oversee payroll process and keep up to date on current HR trends
- Assurance of compliance with government tax/municipal filings and reporting
- Improve the business through creativity and collaboration with senior management
- BA/BS in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Accounting designation (CPA, CMA) or an equivalent combination of related experience and education with strong grasp of GAAP, especially Unit Cost Accounting
- Minimum 7 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role including experience in human resources
- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to work closely with senior management team
