As the Technical Project Manager at HeinOnline, you’ll be at the center of innovation, driving impactful initiatives from concept to completion. Collaborate with talented teams, streamline workflows, and ensure every project delivers exceptional results.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Project Management
- Manage the Project Idea List and work with leadership to prioritize initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and create clear documentation.
- Host project meetings to align teams, address concerns, and review outcomes post-completion.
- Provide regular updates to developers, managers, and senior leaders.
- Use Basecamp (Project Management program) to plan projects, set milestones, and track progress.
- Oversee testing and QA, determining next steps with the manager as needed.
- Review and screen development requests, ensuring clear documentation before submission.
- Organize tasks (maintenance, bug fixes, projects) within a structured 6-week development cycle, balancing priorities and team workloads.
- Monitor the Development Cycle Card Table and ensure timely progress.
- Address issues, resolve scope concerns, and follow up on completed items to confirm satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
- Ensure completion of development documentation and code reviews.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve project management practices.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
- Analytical mindset and customer-focused problem-solving approach.
- Adaptable and efficient at managing changing priorities.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, project management, or related field.
- 4 years of project management experience, ideally in technology or development.
- Project Management Certification (Preferred).
- Basic understanding of technical concepts and terminology.
Monday – Friday
- 7:30am, 8:00am or 8:30am start time
- In-office position, with the ability to occasionally work from home
