Accounting Controller

William Vaughan Company is helping in the search for an Accounting Controller for a Building Materials Supplier based in Genoa, OH. They are seeking a skilled individual to join their team. As the Accounting Controller, you will manage the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with financial regulations, and driving financial efficiency across the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work cross-functionally to support the company’s strategic goals. Role:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare and oversee financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Assist in annual budgeting and manage monthly forecasts
• Monitor cost controls and financial performance
• Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
• Manage cash flow forecasts and ensure liquidity
• Oversee banking relationships and treasury functions
• Internal Controls & Compliance:
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain internal controls
• Support audits and manage corporate governance documentation
• Team Leadership & Development:
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team
• Promote a collaborative work environment
• Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support:
• Ensure accurate cost accounting with operations teams
• Support cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems
• Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Proficiency in accounting software (Great Plains and Bistrack experience preferred)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities
