This role is part of Academic Technology Services within the Office for Information Technology (OIT).

As an Academic Technology Consultant, you will:
- Serve as liaison between OIT and academic departments/programs.
- Assist faculty in selecting, implementing, and using student-centered technologies that complement their pedagogical and research approaches.
- Suggest strategies for using academic technology to deliver and assess curricular and co-curricular content.
- Develop and deliver workshops, course modules, and other supporting resources on academic technologies for faculty, staff, and students.
As a member of ATS and OIT, you will:
- Foster deep collaborations with faculty, the Rice Center for Teaching, the Libraries, Academic Engagement, and other academic staff to support academic and research technology.
- Support the Learning Management System, its ecosystem, and provide technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students.
- Develop and maintain documentation for supported technologies and procedures, including accessible options.
- Research, develop proficiency in, and recommend technology-oriented teaching approaches drawn from the best practices of the campus and wider higher-ed community.
- Manage small instructional technology projects.
- Contribute to the development, refinement, and maintenance of ATS- and OIT-internal processes aligned with the core mission of ATS, OIT, and the college.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree, advanced degree, or equivalent experience preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in teaching, instructional technology, or faculty support in education (higher education preferred).
- Experience supporting a Learning Management System in higher education.
- Broad-based knowledge and skill with academic technology software applications, both productivity- and instruction-related, and Internet resources.
- Excellent communication, networking, and service-orientation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both as a member of a team and independently.

- Higher education teaching experience.
- Of current interest to Williams College is data management and research support for faculty and students.
