What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dietician/Nutrition Educator position at Williams College?
The Registered Dietitian / Nutrition Educator will provide comprehensive nutrition services and education to students at Williams College. This role involves evaluating the nutritional status and needs of students, developing and implementing nutrition programs, offering individual and group counseling session while incorporating cognitive behavioral techniques specific to the underlying condition; for example, disordered eating, and promoting healthy eating habits within the campus community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Individual Counseling :
Conduct one-on-one nutrition assessments and provide personalized dietary advice and meal planning.
Develop and lead workshops, seminars, and cooking demonstrations on topics such as healthy eating, meal prepping, and understanding food labels.
Design and implement campus-wide nutrition programs and initiatives aimed at improving student health and wellness.
Participate in health fairs, orientation programs, and other campus events to promote nutrition and wellness.
Work with campus dining services to aid in educating students around the availability of nutritious and balanced food options and how to navigate the dining halls and fueling on campus.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs and services.
Stay updated on current nutrition research, trends, and best practices.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a clinical or community nutrition setting, with a preference for experience in a college or university environment. Specialization in eating disorders
Work Environment :
Pay ranges from $35.00 - $42.00 an hour, commensurate with experience.
