As a Telecommunications Specialist IV, you will use your experience and expertise to support the daily operational control of our sophisticated voice and data telecommunications LAN / WAN system. As always, safety is the highest priority!

Responsibilities / Expectations :
Provides technical services to daily operational control of a large complex voice, data telecommunications and LAN / WAN system with technical servicesInstalls, troubleshoots, tests and maintains all telecom / network equipment and on-site DC power systems including batteries (12V, 24V, 48V), rectifiers, generators, fuse panels, solar panels and groundingCoordinates with SCADA, Gas Control, Network Services, local operations and company partnersCollaborates with Telecommunications Engineers / Specialists to assure the reliable operations of the Company's Telecommunications assetsDemonstrates technical expertise in specialties, geographic areas or operational functionsApplies specialized knowledge to complete projects and / or work assignmentsProvides reliable and efficient telecommunications and network services to the offices and field sites located across Western Louisiana and Eastern TexasSupports the operation of a large, sophisticated communications network with technical expertise and servicesInstalls and maintains field telecom / network equipmentMaintains and repairs all company-owned and leased communications facilities including towers, buildings, and all associated equipmentOther duties as assignedEducation / Years of Experience :
Required : High School Diploma / GED, technical / trade school certification or military electronics training and minimum eight (8) years' experience in telecommunications, operations or maintenancePreferred : Associate's or two-year technical school degree in electronics or military electronics training and valid FCC license, telecommunications certificate or licenseOther Requirements :
Currently reside or are willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned locationMust possess a valid Driver's License and good driving recordKnowledge of communications services (TCP / IP, Ethernet, Fiber Optics, T1, Wireless, etc.)Preferred : FCC General Radiotelephone Operator licensePreferred : Proven understanding of Cisco routers, switches, and access pointPreferred : Experience maintaining telecommunications infrastructure for a pipeline company, utility provider, railroad, or other related business.Must possess valid State Driver's License and clean driving recordDemonstrates excellent organizational / interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsThrives in a team environment and can build partnerships with othersPhysical and Environment Work Requirements :
Must be willing to :
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spacesCarry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as neededStand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of timeWork at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and / or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)Use hand toolsShift / Work Hours / Travel Requirements :
