As Data Scientist IV, you will be responsible for full life-cycle development, implementation, and production support of data warehouses, business intelligence reporting and advanced analytical model development. You will act as a technical leader on your team and deliver technical solutions to the business that drive business value. Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Contributes to and implements strategies to ensure Williams' analytics environment continues to meet the evolving demands of the business while optimize the cost to performance trade-off
- Works with large data sets in a hybrid cloud environment to develop descriptive, predictive and/or prescriptive models to solve business problems
- Supports full life cycle of developed solutions and data warehouses including managing changes, production support, server/cloud optimization, and continual solution improvement
- Works with individuals at all levels of the organization to understand business needs and challenges, and recommends and implements improvements as well as solves problems with existing solutions when incidents occur
- Provides thoughtful leadership to team and mentors other team members
- Collaborates across the enterprise to understand needs of the business and skillsets of citizen develops in order to continually improve business practices, architecture, data availability, and application support
- Develops and delivers training and contributes to policies and procedures to support citizen development efforts
- Develops and implements machine learning models to solve business problems while streamlining their deployment, monitoring, and maintenance using MLOps practices
- Designs and trains predictive AI models to enhance analytics accuracy, optimize operations, drive innovation, and boost efficiency and revenue, while staying updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to continuously improve the platform's capabilities
- Conducts thorough data analysis to uncover insights and trends that inform strategic initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, business, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years' experience including three (3) years supporting a major technology application
- Preferred: Master's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years' experience with five (5) or more years in data science and/or business intelligence development
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Needs basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Proficiency in Database (SQL, Oracle)
- Solid understanding of data warehousing (SQL, Synapse)
- Solid understanding of ETL and Job Management
- Solid understanding of BI development and associated reports and dashboards (Power BI)
- Solid understanding of OLAP/CUBE design
- Solid understanding of multi-dimensional database structures (e.g. star schemas)
- Preferred: Proficiency in Azure analytics platform (e.g. synapse, data bricks, data factory)
- Preferred: Microsoft certified - Azure Fundamentals
- Preferred: Microsoft certified - Azure Data Fundamentals
- Preferred: Microsoft certified - Azure AI Fundamentals
