Williams & Connolly LLP is seeking a technical trainer to provide training and support to lawyers and support staff. Under the direction of the Director of IT Project Management & Service Delivery, the Trainer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ideal candidates possess strong word processing skills, superior communication, writing and diagnostic skills, the ability to organize competing tasks and projects to see them through to completion, and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities. Previous experience in the legal environment preferred, 3-5 years of progressive experience in IT support or training experience, with at least one year of experience as a technical trainer, the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, install various types of IT equipment on and under desks, and the ability to work additional hours, both during the week and on the weekends, as needed.
Hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. After successfully completing the introductory period, the candidate will be eligible to work the department's approved hybrid schedule.
This is a non-exempt position. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $85,000- $100,000. The final offer amount is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and other relevant skills and qualifications. - Train new and existing employees on Windows, Microsoft Office, document management systems, document comparison, collaboration platforms, through various technology solutions and IT security best practices, as well as support and train common hardware (like laptops and telephones);
- Train lawyers, legal staff, and case teams on proper use of common legal document review and case management software;
- Create and deliver training and documentation for firm-wide software roll-outs using mixed delivery methods, while accommodating different learning styles;
- Organize, maintain, communicate and report on schedules, training and information within the learning management system;
- Perform User Acceptance Testing for new applications and application updates;
- Respond to direct telephone calls, e-mails and in-person requests for technical assistance from customers;
- Maintain training room and equipment;
- Provide backup support for escalated Help Desk tickets (software/hardware);
- Track work using Learning Management System, online collaboration tools and/or Help Desk ticketing software; and
- Provide excellent customer service through positive and prompt responses to internal inquiries, providing learners various options to address their needs.
