Reports to : Regional Business Manager or Engineering Manager
Based at : Regional Office (Vancouver, Abbotsford or Lower Mainland)
Position Purpose : Working closely with other Team Leads, coordinate Service Line teammates and maintain the technical capability and production requirements of the discipline.
Specific Responsibilities Include :
Service Line Accountabilities – Workload Management and Engineering Quality
Regional Accountabilities - Client Relationships and Operational Management
Alongside the Engineering Managers, forecast workload for staffing targets and coordinate workload among teammates.
Motivate, train and mentor, and discipline direct reports according to company policies and guidelines.
Provide Technical oversight on single and multi-discipline projects as well as technical expertise and design on projects.
Develop teammate Career Paths and provide performance appraisals, with input from the Engineering Manager.
Share expertise with other offices, maintain technical capability and provide technical expertise on projects.
Assist the Engineering Manager with proposal preparation as required.
Work with others to increase the overall technical capability and efficiency of the service line.
Act as senior client contact for key clients.
Stamp own project design and reports and that of engineers in training for whom you are providing peer review as appropriate.
Teammates are required to adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.
Stay current with changes in own discipline.
Establish basic operating standards, and accomplish objectives in the most economical manner to manage unusual conditions.
Attract new business and collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Relationship Managers and Directors to secure large multi-company projects.
Work as the Project Manager, Relationship Manager or Technical Specialist to provide our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
Identify completed projects in your discipline that are eligible for technical awards, ensure projects are submitted.
Exercise independent judgement and decision making to establish work methods and procedures on new or special assignments and projects.
Analyze existing data to forecast business choices regarding budget forecasting, budget variances, client profitability, risk management and report findings to the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director as appropriate.
Understand and participate in resolving issues with cost control, non-recoverable expenditures, and utilization.

Qualifications and Experience :
- Must hold P.Eng., C.E.T., PL.Eng., or AScT designation in Western Canada.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 8 years experience under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
