Position: Fire Protection Designer

Job Description:
- Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using specialized design software packages. (Autosprink, Hydracad)
- Perform hydraulic calculations, Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications and contracts
- Work closely with the contracting team to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew.
- Coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date.
- Read and interpret construction documents including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Design and layout sprinkler systems.
- Perform field checks of completed system designs. Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades.
- Create material stock listings, analyze changes, and solve problems.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.
- Perform field checks on completed design to verify accuracy.
- Read and interpret construction documents including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Design and layout sprinkler systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficient in Autosprink/Cad, Outlook, MS Office.
- Desire and ability to work towards achieving NICET certifications
- Familiar with reading and understanding construction documents, including bid forms, plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders and general agreements.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Outlook and Excel.
- Must have the willingness to be a team player.
