SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Prepper position is responsible for quality control of all homes, to prepare them for a move-in ready condition and subsequent walks. Objectives are to recognize items that need fine tuning, make adjustments that are required, and to deliver a house that demonstrates high quality and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Perform the necessary quality control repairs or fine tuning of all homes in production.
- Must have the ability to understand the building assemblies and structural components to help identify current and future issues with HVAC systems, water, gas, electrical and framing structural members.
- Preforms and oversees the completion and prep items which includes contacting subcontractors and following up with each contact to ensure that all prep items have been completed.
- Oversees completion of all punchlist items from Quality Control Walk prior to Homebuyer Orientation (HBO) to House 2 Home Walk. Informs the Warranty Service Department of any carry-over items not completed prior to each walk.
Requirements
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High School diploma preferred; 1-2 years prior construction industry experience a plus.
- Must have skills in drywall patching, painting, minor ceramic tile repairs, and minor carpet repairs (re-stretch, cutting, tucking, and trimming).
- Must have own tools, reliable transportation, and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to do physical labor, lift heavy equipment/materials and have a strong stamina.
- Ability to understand, follow and communicate written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, stoop, reach, handle, kneel and climb. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
- Able to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, plans, purchase orders, back charge forms, and floor diagrams.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level is usually loud.
