Position Overview :

We seek a Support Clerk & Receptionist to provide receptionist coverage, general filing, and office support services for our Spokane office. This position includes but is not limited to the following tasks : retrieve, sort, and deliver mail; manage and oversee office and kitchen supplies; set up and tear down conference rooms for meetings; administrative support to legal assistants (sorting, categorizing, copying, indexing of documents, general legal case filing); and other general office administrative tasks as needed. This position requires on-site work Monday through Friday. This position is not eligible for remote / hybrid work.

Responsibilities of Support Clerk / Receptionist :

This position generally involves recurring work situations with occasional variation from average to moderate complexity. The employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision. Overtime might occur during periods of high workload.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following :

  • Perform firm reception duties daily between 8 : 30 AM and 5 : 00 PM, with a 1HR Lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Additional time away from reception may be allowed to handle office duties and other responsibilities.
  • Answering multi-line phone systems.
  • Greeting and announcing clients and attending to their needs.
  • Directing other visitors appropriately.
  • Accepting deliveries.
  • Keeping the reception area free from clutter.
  • Provide essential administrative support to the legal assistants and Seattle admin team.
  • Opening files using records electronic system, creating folders.
  • Closing files using the firm’s protocol.
  • Assisting with creating binders, large copies, and scanning projects.
  • Assisting with mail projects including E-Certify, FedEx, etc.
  • Oversee and manage office supplies and kitchen supplies.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned.

Qualifications of Support Clerk / Receptionist :

  • 2 years of general office experience.
  • Basic paper filing knowledge, both alpha and numeric, with aptitude for detail.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office products (including Outlook, Excel, and Word); moderate typing speed.
  • Ability to prioritize work projects and work independently after appropriate training and instruction.
  • Professional demeanor and communication, especially towards clients.
  • Ability to work on a multi-line telephone system.
  • Ability to provide a positive first impression and greet clients.
  • Ability to take direction and communicate well with all members of a services organization, from staff to attorneys.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to occasionally work overtime as needed.
  • Additional experience and educational preferences :

    Any equivalent combination of education and experience that may provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

  • Required : A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic office procedures in English.
  • Salary Range and Benefits :

    50,000-$55,000 – This salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include but are not limited to the following : the candidate’s relevant experience, skill level, and demonstrated ability to perform all of the essential functions of the position as well as the ability to perform tasks which would arise from the needs of the position or as assigned and all of the qualifications listed in the job description. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short & long-term disability, 401K, paid time off, and holiday pay.

    Working Conditions :

    Typical office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50-75% of the time; frequently operates a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; often works under deadlines; occasionally needs to move about the office to access file cabinets, machinery, etc. Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
