What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oral Surgery Assistant position at Williams Oral Sugery?
Responsibilities:
Patient Preparation: Greet patients, take medical and dental histories, and prepare them for surgery.
Sterilization and Equipment: Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare surgical trays, and ensure the operating room is ready.
X-ray Procedures: Take and process dental x-rays to aid in diagnosis.
Patient Education: Explain procedures and aftercare instructions to patients.
Anesthesia Assistance: Assist with sedation and anesthesia procedures, including monitoring vital signs.
Chairside Assistance: Assist the surgeon by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and providing suction.
Instrument Management: Manage and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring they are readily available and sterile.
Vital Sign Monitoring: Monitor and record the patient's vital signs during surgery.
Patient Care: Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and their families.
Follow-up: Schedule follow-up appointments and ensure patients receive necessary care.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and procedures.
Office Duties: Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, night calls and managing patient records. Care stream WINOMS experience a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
