What You'll Do
- Diagnose & Troubleshoot: Inspect heavy equipment, identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and recommend repairs.
- Maintain & Repair: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on civil construction equipment to include: bulldozers, graders, and excavators to ensure optimal functionality. Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components as needed.
- Field Service & Emergency Response: Respond promptly to field service requests and breakdowns, traveling to job sites to address equipment issues.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities performed on each piece of equipment.
- Education & Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical school graduate or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Experience: 5 years as a field mechanic specializing in heavy equipment.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems; proficiency with diagnostic tools.
- Work Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills, independent decision-making under pressure, and effective communication.
- Technology Proficiency: Accurate typing, keyboard use, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Licensing & Compliance: Valid driver’s license with a clean record; Class-A CDL (or willingness to obtain).
