Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as cooking, personal hygiene, and mobility.
- Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Promote client independence by encouraging participation in activities and decision-making.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist clients with mobility or other physical tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, senior care, or direct support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A caring attitude towards individuals with disabilities or special needs is essential.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with heavy lifting and mobility assistance.
