Job Description
This is a hands-on role where you will perform standard winery analyses, including Brix, pH, TA, CO2, VA, alcohol, and enzymatic techniques. You will also collect wine and juice samples for tasting and analysis, monitor tank fermentation for Brix and temperature, and maintain and calibrate all laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all standard winery analyses
- Collect wine and juice samples for tasting and analysis
- Monitor tank fermentation for Brix and temperature
- Maintain and calibrate all laboratory equipment
- Enter data into Excel and Innovint
- Generate reports with Innovint and Excel
- Assist in cultivating and inoculating yeast and malolactic cultures
- Support cellar tasks, such as punch downs, topping, cleaning, etc.
Requirements:
- At least one harvest of lab experience and previous cellar experience preferred
- BS in Enology/Chemistry or equivalent experience
- General knowledge of winemaking and viticulture
- Ability to climb, bend, stand for prolonged lengths of time, and lift 50lbs
- Ability to work long, flexible hours through busy harvest time
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age by start of internship
- Ability to legally work in the USA
