Seeking: Criminal Defense Legal Assistant/Paralegal
About: We are a family-oriented law firm with five attorneys that practice primarily in the areas of personal injury litigation and criminal defense. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional legal services to our clients, but we also value a healthy work-life balance.
Position: We are seeking a legal assistant or paralegal to join our team who will work with our criminal defense team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized, and kind.
Job Duties:
- Manage case flow.
- Maintain communication with clients.
- Organize and update attorney schedule(s).
- Prepare orders, motions, appeals, and other court documentation as requested.
- Communicate with court personnel to facilitate case management.
Qualifications:
- 2-6 years of experience as legal assistant or paralegal
- Preference given to criminal defense experience and familiarity with case management systems such as Smokeball
Hours: Monday – Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Firm will pay 90% of the employee’s health, dental, and life insurance. 401k matching up to 3% after 1 year.
