Summary
Establishes operations and project management objectives; manages, administers and directs everyday operations, including monitoring of project quoting, applications work, concepts, design, fabrication, build and development; reviews project, departmental, and personnel performance, identifies opportunities for improvement and problems or deviations and takes appropriate operational or corrective actions.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Directs general operations and assures adherence to good business practices.
- Leads and coordinates annual review of operations and annual strategic planning process/sessions.
- Establishes company goals for operations, including applications, engineering and build of projects.
- Maintains a record of projects’ delivery and financial performance, comparing project schedules and costs versus original estimates and budgets.
- Formulates and implements plans for continuous improvement and necessary corrective actions, as appropriate, in accordance with company processes.
- Provides direction to personnel regarding operations protocol, procedure, and scheduling.
- Develops and/or approves solutions to specific problems.
- Resolves priority conflicts between projects and departments
- Creates and/or maintains a positive, team-oriented work environment to ensure communication and teamwork as well as high levels of productivity among all personnel and departments.
- Coordinates and works closely with administrative, human resources, and finance departments in carrying out duties.
- Keeps senior management informed of company and project operating status.
- Participates in company technical and financial reviews as required.
- Stays current and participates in company-sponsored opportunities regarding technological developments, automation, engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Facilitates communication, cooperation, and teamwork among personnel.
- Understands and complies with requirements of the QMS, AS9100, and/or ISO 9000.
- Travels on an as required basis.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience and technical capability.
- Possesses team skills and experience as an effective team leader.
- Proficient in oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform and /or review complex technical and financial analysis as related to custom automation design & build.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work and business schedules while dealing with day-to-day changes and interruptions.
- Ability to deal with factors not easily evaluated, interpret results, exercise exceptional judgment and make responsible decisions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applicable software tools/databases
