For an Operations Technician III
Responsibilities / Expectations :
- Performs a variety of tasks to safely maintain equipment and support operations; tests, calibrates and validates process safety devices and equipment
- Responsible for data analysis and collaboration with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems
- Follows all company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance procedures
- Acquires knowledge of and adheres to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets
- Maintains general knowledge of site / location / equipment / specific permits and compliance
- Installs and maintains electrical equipment associated with power line distribution systems and electrical safety code, applying technical skills, proficiency and technical leadership in the following areas : Electrical Switchgear, Instrumentation, Measurement, Motor Controls, Control Loops, Distributive Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLCs, AC electrical systems and DC electrical systems
- Troubleshoots, operates, repairs and maintains mechanical and electrical systems including both low and high voltage equipment and uninterruptible power supply systems; removes, repairs and reinstalls sensing elements for flow, temperature, pressure and level measurement
- Other duties as assigned
Education / Years of Experience :
Required : High School Diploma / GED and minimum three (3) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar rolePreferred : Associates or 2-year technical degree and minimum two (2) years experience with Distributive Control Systems and Allen Bradley PLCs; possess a journeyman or electrical licensePhysical and Environment Work Requirements :
Must be willing to :
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spacesCarry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as neededStand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of timeWork at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and / or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)Use hand toolsShift / Work Hours / Travel Requirements :
