Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Runs workforce planning and career development activities for team members
- Holds team accountable for performing all work in accordance with requirements, standards, policies, procedures and processes
- Coordinates efforts to ensure adequate financial accounting controls and integrity of our financial records
- Collaborates with others to establish and maintain accounting policies, standards and processes in compliance with GAAP and accounting regulations
- Collaborates to develop and handle financial analysis and reporting
- Leads sophisticated projects
- Communicates with senior leadership regarding data and analysis
- Reviews and ensures accuracy of FERC & GAAP filings; reviews XBRL tagging
- Researches regulated accounting issues, formulates recommendations for accounting treatment, and documents conclusions in memos for management’s review
- Supports rate case submission, works with partners on rate and tariff filings, FERC audits and other regulatory issues
- Ensures adherence to GAAP, FERC and SOX policies and supports audit and financial reporting requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting and minimum six (6) years of multifaceted accounting experience
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Deep understanding of accounting procedures and policies
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team is preferred
- Fosters a collaborative and hardworking environment
- Leads special projects and company initiatives
- Drives process improvement and data automation
- Preferred: Knowledge of FERC regulation and accounting requirements/processes
