Licensed Safety Officer
Reports to Safety & Facilities
The WCHS seeks out individuals who are :
Peacekeeping and experienced in governing the underage population
Able to work in a highly collaborative, professional setting, and can also function independently.
Sensitive to the unique needs of the community and the complex issues faced by urban youth and their families.
Passionate and positive about school culture and education.
Able to immediately clear a federal background check through fingerprinting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Establish and maintain clearance in the halls during school hours.
Scanning students into school in the morning.
Assuring the proper uniform is in place upon entrance of students into the building.
Checking locker rooms and all bathrooms for clearance.
Clearing the front desk and first-floor area.
Patrol school grounds to maintain order and secure students, employees, and WCHS property.
Respond to classroom calls of disturbances and behavioral issues.
Round-up and monitoring of daily student detention for one entire month during the academic year.
Respond, investigate, and control various situations and altercations.
Assist in the investigation of possible illegal activities on school grounds such as; searches of backpacks, lockers, and classrooms for illegal substances and weapons.
Trained emergency response and EMR evacuation
Assists with monitoring student breakfast, lunch, hallway, and reception desk as needed.
Perform other related duties as requested and assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
High School Diploma or Equivalent
New York State safety Training and Certification,16hr and 8hr annual
