Teacher QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Bachelor Degree in Education with passing score on the PRAXIS Exam or 2. Alternative Certification Program with a passing score on the PRAXIS Exam in the desired area of teaching 3. Assumes responsibility for the instruction of assigned students in designated subject area(s) in accordance with the course of study approved by the SC State Department of Education 4. Ensures academic outcomebyimplementing South Carolina Academic Standards and the District Curriculum. 2. Ensures safety for studentsbyestablishing and maintaining an effective and safe learning climate in the classroom, developing and enforcing rules of conduct; resolving teacher / parent / student conflicts. 3. Ensure community supportbyestablishing and maintaining positive relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for all students' objectives and programs. 4. Complies with federal, state and local requirementsbyimplementing and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, Board Policy, state and federal policies. Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community. 5. Ensure efficient and effective use of resourcesbyidentifying, selecting, and modifying instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. 6. Maintain professional competencebyparticipating in professional development. By meeting professional obligations through efficient work habits such as : meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating programs. 7.
