Overview
Works under the direction of the Manager, Respiratory Care Services and/ or Practice Manager. The Supervisor, Sleep Disorders Center is responsible for the daily operation of the Sleep Disorders Center. For the employees under the direction of this supervisor, he/she evaluates their performance, resolves conflicts and complaints, and takes disciplinary action when necessary. Additionally, for the employee group that he/she supervises, the supervisor schedules coverage for appropriate shifts, is responsible for the quality and productivity of work performed, and employee adherence to existing hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Operational responsibilities include: developing and working within the established annual capital and operating budgets; coordinating the integration of services; implementing quality assurance activities; and the working relationship with physicians. Supervises the department to meet the needs of the patients and their families. In addition, the Supervisor must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area of the department. Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departmental policy and procedure guide. Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals, and support safe practices as recommended by the National Quality Forum. Follows guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling, and standard precautions to avoid personal accidents and injuries. Maintains a safe work area.

What you will do
- Participates in the planning and monitoring of the budget for defined areas to include appropriate resource allocation determination. Completes variance review, analysis an action plans based on approved departmental budget.
- Maintains the CPAP clinic.
- Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with patients, families, staff, peers, physicians and other disciplines/ancillary services to support patient care needs and protocol requirements.
- Markets the Sleep Lab to increase volumes.
- Participates in departmental meetings, in-services and educational programs.
- Assures safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and is responsible for the Quality Assurance program.
- Assesses, diagnoses, implements, and evaluates treatments and procedures that contribute to the established sleep lab accreditation and stability of the patient. Provides the ordering physician with a quality sleep studies that enables the accurate interpretation of the procedure.
- Provide patient and team education on DME and other sleep needs

Education
- Program Graduate, Polysomnography or related field (Required)
Experience
- 1 year Polysomnography (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Should be able to communicate well with providers, patients and techs using current sleep terminology. Demonstrates ability to work independently
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
