Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited Life Plan Community in Williamsburg, Virginia, recently honored as one of Senior Care's Best Places to Live and Best Places to Work for 2025, is seeking a new Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer to join our leadership team.
The Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer (EVP / COO) reports directly to the President / Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness of Williamsburg Landing’s facilities, healthcare, and resident services. This role oversees the Health & Rehabilitation Center, Wellness, Facilities, and Dining functions and provides leadership for both existing and new programs, as well as business operations and administrative practices throughout the community. The EVP / COO regularly engages with resident committees and serves as the staff lead for the Health & Resident Services and Plant Operations committees of the Board of Directors. In the absence of the President / CEO, the EVP / COO assumes responsibility for fulfilling their duties.
Requirements :
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with members of the Senior Leadership Team to create and execute operational plans that align with Williamsburg Landing's strategic plan, mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer to ensure the development and implementation of quality assurance programs to maintain top-tier healthcare and service delivery standards. Develop and track key performance indicators and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction as well as healthcare outcomes.
- Ensure accountability and compliance with all regulatory and accrediting standards, as well as internal organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Serve as Compliance Officer and Risk Management lead to identify and address operational risks related to compliance, risk, safety, and resident well-being. Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- For the Health & Rehabilitation, Wellness, Facilities, and Dining functions, set expectations to foster a results-oriented culture of teamwork, accountability, growth and innovation. Collaborate on developing and executing departmental goals and action plans to achieve organizational objectives.
- Oversee administrative functions of direct reports, including staff management, performance evaluation, and development, in line with existing policies and procedures.
- Work with the CEO and Chief Financial Officer to develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and operational metrics. Drive financial performance through effective census and occupancy optimization, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to explore opportunities for expansion of services, new lines of business and strategic partnerships.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and other community stakeholders.
- Represent Williamsburg Landing in community meetings and interactions with external agencies, including governmental bodies and third-party payers.
- Attend meetings of the Board of Directors, Resident’s Council, and other committees, as well as the monthly Residents’ Association meeting. Prepare and present reports and data as required.
- In the absence of the Nursing Home Administrator, ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Assume the role of Administrator of Record for the nursing facility if licensed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the President / CEO or Board of Directors.
