Summary
A family in Williamsburg VA 23185 (close to Water Country) are looking for a trustworthy, dependable and nurturing nanny to provide care for their almost one year old son on a part-time basis 24 hours a week over 3 days each week.
Seeking a nanny who is active and attentive and can engage the child in creative play both indoors and outdoors and play an essential role in his development. He currently has an excellent sleep schedule taking two naps a day and is exploring new finger foods. He loves playing with his trucks, building things and knocking them down! He currently attends a music class with his mom once a week and will enjoy occasional local outings with the nanny to the library, park, etc.
This is a long-term position and at some point the family will likely grow.
About the Family
J and R are originally from Pittsburgh, PA and relocated to Williamsburg, VA for R’s job. He works as a nuclear Engineer and J is a nurse practitioner for Riverside. We got to welcome our newest addition N to our family almost a year ago now.
N is such a loving, curious, observant, and energetic baby. He is constantly trying to explore any possible new environment that he can. Loves to go on walks and play with his toys.
Hours: Monday Tuesday Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:30pm. Occasionally some flexibility will be required on the end time.
Preferred start date: End of March
Paid time off after a qualifying period of 3 months
Pets: No
Nanny car provided: No – nanny will use her own car and the family will provide and fit a car seat.
Responsibilities
· Always follow the parent’s specific instructions about all aspects of childcare and learn the parent’s style of care.
· Always be attentive to the child’s needs and ensure his health, well-being, and safety is the nanny’s priority always.
· Be posive and have an excellent working attitude.
· Communicate with the parents daily, which includes keeping a daily log of activities and taking a few minutes to speak to the parents at the end of each shift
Create a stimulating and nurturing environment for the child, including daily reading, active and imaginative play, crafts, listening to music, and lots of talking to encourage language development.
Help with meal prep and planning. Creating healthy meals for the child following the parents guidance.
- Follow schedules set by the parents regarding naps
- Help with potty training when the time arises
- Dress the child appropriately for the weather and apply sunscreen when needed.
- Ensure children are adequately hydrated and always have access to fresh water
- Transport child to local parks, library etc.
- Go for daily walks in the neighborhood and play outside as much as possible
- Perform housework related to mostly, including washing the child’s clothes, cleaning up after meals, tidying play/sleep/eating areas, and washing bottles etc.
- Limit cellphone usage and texting to essential issues only when the children are home from school.
Skills and qualities required
- Experience in Childcare backed up with strong checkable references
- Experience in Nannying within the past three years
- Must be willing to pass background and driving records checks
- Trustworthy, reliable, and honest
- Nurturing, patient, and calm with a cheerful and willing disposition
- Certificates in CPR/First Aid
- Legal US resident
- Ability to play, organize and multi-task and use initiative

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
