Williamson County Government Emergency Communications Department is accepting applications for full-time 911 Dispatchers/Telecommunicators.
Overview:
Join our team as a Dispatcher where you will play a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating efficient communication between various parties. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for dispatching and coordinating emergency response activities. This position requires a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Preference will be given to those with experience in Emergency Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently dispatch emergency services to designated locations.
- Utilize GIS and GPS systems to determine the most effective routes for emergency responders.
- Perform phone triage to assess the nature of emergency calls and prioritize responses accordingly.
- Analyze incoming information and data to make informed decisions on resource allocation.
- Communicate effectively with emergency personnel, providing them with necessary information and updates.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless coordination during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities.

- Proficiency in to accurately record information.

- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.

A High School Diploma or a GED is required.
Must be able to work any shift. (days, evenings or nights depending on the shift you are assigned) This is a 24 hour agency and employees are required to come in on short notice for shift coverage or during busy periods.
