JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring facility and equipment readiness related to WCSA Indoor and Outdoor youth recreation soccer league, and to provide support activities to the WCSA office staff in pursuit of running a smooth and efficient soccer program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain daily hours at the Downs facility such that field readiness is accurate and complete on a timely basis, primarily;
o Lining of the soccer fields in preparation for and during the outdoor season, generally with a WCSA lining robot but manually with a crew if necessary at all facilities that WCSA has responsibility for (Downs, Thompson Station, etc.)
o Field Net repair/replacement, corner flags and small goal setup and take down as necessary, small field damage (hole) maintenance.
o Maintain stock of nylon rope, zip ties, tools, and other necessary equipment needed for maintaining nets
o Generally during the outdoor season, the lining and readiness will require 3 full-time days of on-site work to complete before the weekend games
o Willingness and ability to work Saturdays during the outdoor season to assist with game day activities
Work as a liaison with the lining robot technical support to assist with maintaining robot and be responsible for robot upkeep, including;
o Order paint for robot from Pioneer in time for the upcoming season
o Order paint for manual lining of the field in event of a robot malfunction
o Hardware parts for robot that allow for troubleshooting or replacement
Oversee game scheduling across all divisions for indoor and outdoor soccer seasons
During the Indoor season, support activities for the function of the indoor league including:
o Acting as the backup time keeper when needed
o Assisting with indoor game scheduling, assist with championship/tournament scheduling when played
Support the Summer Soccer Camps
o Complete prep work for shirts, balls, setup
o Find appropriate storage for shirts, balls, other gear and items leftover from camp
o Be on-site during the 2 weeks of soccer camps providing setup, cleanup, and camp food/water, upkeeping activities
In preparation of outdoor season, take inventory of nets, sandbags, sand, flags, field banners, goal signs, goal numbers, paint, gas for the Gators, and other items as needed
Responsible for the status of field conditions and swapping fields as needed
Create schedules for all outdoor Spring/Fall and Indoor soccer seasons (Boys/Girls Winter and Boys/Girls Summer Indoor)
Identify improvement opportunities for WCSA and provide appropriate feedback to the WCSA Board of Directors to evaluate and implement approved programs
Conduct other business as directed by the WCSA Board of Directors related to Operational readiness
Work effectively with the office staff and board of directors to establish a positive and effective office environment and smooth-running operation.
This role is a full-time position with weekly hours between 40 and 50 hours per week depending on soccer season, activity, and personal efficiency. Job structure is designed with multiple activities to ensure the Operations manager can achieve a minimum 40 hour work week
o Position shall be allotted 2 weeks vacation scheduled as not to conflict with significant WCSA business needs
o Office shall be closed on all recognized holidays at the approval of the Executive VP due to weather or other business-related reasons.
During the outdoor season, all tasks assigned to the Operations manager must be completed and checked by either the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, or VP of Operations every Friday
