JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Voting System Supervisor, responsible for the programming of electronic and paper ballots for the Williamson County Elections department. Prepares, tests, troubleshoots, and coordinates repairs for voting equipment and programming of electronic pollbooks.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Maintains responsibility for the tabulation of paper and electronic ballots and the creation of election results reports
- Processes information requests for tabulation data
- Gathers and proofs election ballot language from various sources
- Performs state mandated tabulation tests and manages testing members
- Prepares and inventories programming media for voting equipment
- Assists divisional supervisors by programming and testing various voting equipment
- Coordinates and supervises annual maintenance of voting equipment
- Manages election setup, paper and electronic ballot creation within appropriate system
- Generates ballot proofs, printed test decks and audio files for entity approval and / or public testing
- Pre-tests paper and electronic ballots, sets up public logic and accuracy tests of electronic voting and tabulation equipment
- Coordinates, recruits, trains, and oversees personnel for required Public Logic & Accuracy testing of the voting equipment
- Provides basic installation and troubleshooting support for voting system hardware, software, and network components
- Assists in creation and use of ballot style tables for manual ballot assignment procedures
- Catalogs and prepares media for voting and tabulation equipment
- Serves as a department IT Department liaison and assist with implementing software, performing routine maintenance, performing inventory control and identifying functionality issues
- Provides various election reports to the Secretary of state for primary and general elections via web portal prescribed by the state
- Provides assistance on Election Day with phone support for election officials : troubleshoot technical issues and participate in election night work activities
- Configures, maintain, and retain backups of all election system programming databases in accordance with local, state and federal laws
- Assists the Operations staff in maintaining proper stock levels and inventory methods
- Communicates frequently via telephone, e-mail, and in person with poll workers and the general public
- Serves as a primary contact for the election Judge's hotline and assists with complex issues from elections judges and staff
- Cross-trains with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned
