- Drafts legal documents for attorney review, revision, and approval
- Prepares and files paper and electronic case documents
- Maintains electronic case file system with documents, correspondence, email, and notes
- Maintain calendars for case dockets, meetings, and appointments
- Produces case file tracking reports
- Produces and maintains accurate and detailed records and reports subject to audit
- Assists attorneys in preparation for meetings and court appearances
- Assists attorneys with time reporting
- Receives and handles phone calls and communicate messages
- Receives, reviews, distributes, and responds to correspondence
- Schedules appointments and meetings
- Maintains strict confidentiality and security of records and documents
- Communicates with prosecutors, county personnel, court personnel, victims, witnesses, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, external agencies, and the general public
- Attends all meetings and trainings as required
- Performs special duties as assigned
- Assists attorneys with responses to various types of post-conviction litigation, which may include the review of archived case files to search for and identify relevant information
- Facilitates post-conviction litigation process
- Assists attorneys with appropriate action in cases requiring DNA review
- Assists with appellate case transition to electronic case management system
- Facilitates asset forfeiture case intake and processes
- Facilitates bond forfeiture case intake and processes
- Facilitates expunction case intake and processes
- Facilitates nondisclosure case intake and processes
- Facilitates extradition case intake and processes
- Assists attorneys with response to public information requests including record review, redaction, copying, scanning, and production of responsive records
- Maintains Public Information Request Log
- Facilitates implementation and office compliance with Record Retention Policy and reporting
- Serves as backup administration for the Legal Specialist
- Performs duties of a Legal Assistant IV - Trial Assignment for felony criminal cases assigned to the Special Victims Unit
- Performs duties of a Victim Assistance Coordinator for felony criminal cases assigned to the Special Victims Unit
- Prepares and manages court dockets
- Locates and prepares files for criminal court appearances
- Calculates jail credit, ensuring credit is properly determined for court ordered treatment facilities
- Attends court proceedings to record settings and prepares plea paperwork, judgments, dismissals, and other related legal documents for disposition of felony criminal cases
- Tracks and maintains bond forfeitures, preparing and filing documentation and creating new cases, when necessary
- Reviews pending, non-indicted, and probation files
- Compares case information and Indictment filings with case management system data to ensure accuracy
- Ensures proper Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) data entry and reporting
- Locates and tracks defendants through out-of-county/state custodial agencies; processes Affidavits of Incarceration
- Prepares and files motions to revoke or increase bonds, revocations, adjudications, local and federal bench warrants, motions and orders for competency, and pre-trial motions
- Processes case referrals to the County Attorney Generates and reviews Warrant Activity and Event Review Reports to ensure reset dates, CJIS reporting, County Attorney referrals, adjudications, revocations, and bond forfeitures are addressed in a timely manner
- Prepares trial notebooks and performs general trial assistance including copying transcripts and contacting key persons
- Assists with jury trials by preparing prospective juror seating charts, reviewing prior service of jurors, copying jury lists, and updating juror service ledger after trial
- Records and relocates media files for disposed cases
- Reports directly to - Felony Prosecutor III or Division Chief

- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
