Job Summary
This role involves providing high-quality echocardiographic procedures while ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients. As an Echocardiographer at Williamson Health, you will collaborate with cardiologists, perform various echocardiographic studies, and recognize abnormal results for accurate reporting.
Responsibilities
To provide high quality Echo procedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner while providing those services in a safe and clean environment.
Requirements
An earned degree/certificate from an accredited Echocardiography program and registration or registry eligibility in Echocardiography.
Preference of at least two years of work experience after graduation.
Ability to physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs to stretchers; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day-to-day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians.
Performance Standards
CHECKS patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study. Recognizes abnormal studies and reports appropriately. Understands proper use of Definity. Seeks opportunities to assist in other areas during downtime periods and always makes good use of time. Correctly records preliminary calculations and post measurements and findings. Assist Cardiologists during TEE's and Cardioversions. Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makes appropriate decisions. Volunteers for overtime and fill-in when needed. Performs high quality studies consistently and follows pre-determined standards (protocols) and procedures for all echocardiography studies. Communicates and follows through with fellow employees to ensure that all requests from physicians and patients are completed.
