Pediatric Inpatient Unit
The Pediatric Inpatient Unit at Monroe Carell Junior Children's Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center is a dynamic and specialized unit dedicated to providing the highest level of care to children.
About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Inpatient Nurse to join our team. As a Pediatric Inpatient Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to children admitted to the hospital on our dedicated pediatric unit for various medical conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide family-centered care
- Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients to determine their medical needs and monitor their progress
- Work closely with our board-certified pediatric hospitalists and child life specialist to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Explain treatment plans and procedures to patients and their families, offering emotional support and reassurance
- Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies
- Advocate for the needs and best interests of pediatric patients, ensuring they receive appropriate and compassionate care
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience and possess the following skills:
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
