Job Description: ESY Summer Program Coordinator
Job Summary:
This candidate is a licensed teacher who will be responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of the ESY summer programming for students with intensive complex needs. The chosen candidate will be responsible for collaborating, and consulting with the BCBA, special educators, speech and language professionals, OT and PT, and behavior support specialists in an effort to create daily educational programming that meets the needs of the enrolled students. The Coordinator will also be responsible for oversight of the program, including (but not limited to) supervision of staff and students, communication with parents, scheduling, organization of the physical space, food service, and ensuring that all programming is consistent with federal and state laws/regulations. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with custodial staff.
Summer programming will run from July 8th - August 8th. The student day will run from 8:00-11:30, Monday through Thursday, or 12:30-4:00, Monday through Thursday.
The ESY Summer Program Coordinator will be expected to work 7:30-4:00 with the option of up to 8 additional hours per week to prep, plan, collaborate, consult, and/or develop programming.
In addition to the 5 weeks of programming, the Coordinator will be expected to complete 5 full days (7 ½ hours) on site before the July 8th start date. Two of these days will be the Staff Orientation, which will take place on June 24th and 25th, from 7:30-3:00. During this orientation, the Coordinator will establish a relationship with all staff participating in the summer programming, as well as outlining the vision and expectations for the program. In addition, the Coordinator will facilitate the set up of the physical space, the collaboration and consultation with the BCBA, special educator, speech and language pathologist, OT, PT, and the support staff. Support staff will be provided guidance and time to prep materials necessary to meet the needs of their individual students.
