Summary
As a Counselor in Training at our facility in Williamsville, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mental health care while supporting our team in delivering high-quality services. This role is essential for fostering a therapeutic environment and contributing to the overall mission of improving mental health outcomes. You will be able to complete hours towards obtaining your license as an LMHC and we offer supervision from an experienced licensed psychologist.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision of a licensed psychologist you will be expected to conduct evaluations, ongoing psychotherapy, document all encounters in accordance with company policies and in compliance with regulations.
- weekly supervision with clinical supervisor
- Conduct intake assessments and document client progress accurately.
- Support clients with daily living skills and coping strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Engage with families to provide education on mental health resources and support options.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans tailored to client needs.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance counseling skills.
Qualifications
- Must have a permit issued by the state of New York or be in process of obtaining for mental health counseling
- Familiarity with medical terminology and psychiatric practices is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and active listening.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
