Job Overview:
We are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Provisional (LMHC-P) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adolescents and adults, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to address mental health concerns. We are an outpatient continuum care practice with a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, LMHC-P's looking to add to our psychotherapy services immediately. We are based out of New York State and serve clients/patients across the state of New York via in person and telepsychiatry.
Duties:
- Conduct individual sessions for children adolescents and adults
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support clients in achieving therapeutic goals
- Implement motivational interviewing strategies to enhance client engagement and progress
- Provide counseling services for individuals experiencing chronic pain or behavioral health issues
- Incorporate dance therapy techniques into sessions to promote emotional expression and well-being
- Offer telehealth services to clients when appropriate
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on topics such as social skills or coping strategies
Experience:
- Must have a Master's degree in Counseling or related field
- LMHC-P licensure in the state of practice
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a counseling setting
- Proficiency in behavior management and motivational interviewing techniques
- Knowledge of chronic pain counseling approaches
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions
- Previous experience in group therapy facilitation, particularly with pediatric populations
