QUALIFICATIONS:Open until filled
1. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
2. Holds or is eligible for a New Jersey Instructional Certificate Welding (2543)
3. Required criminal history background check and physical.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal or other appropriately certified superior as designated by the Superintendent.
FUNCTION:
Assumes responsibility for the instruction of assigned students in designated subject matter area(s) in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education.
Job Duties:
1. Teaches introductory and advanced Welding, with a focus on skills that are relevant in today's workplace.
2. Develops curriculum based on the New Jersey CTE standards and proficiencies. Topics include safety and equipment, oxy-fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, base metal preparation, SMAW, reading welding drawings, creating CAD drawings and utilizing those with CNC machinery.
3. Forms positive relationships with students and manages a classroom of students.
4. Researches curriculum options and implements curriculum.
5. Stays up to date with industry trends.
6. Facilitates a Program Advisory Board of industry experts who give advice about and direction for the program.
7. Maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting.
8. Communicates students' progress to guardians.
9. Participates fully in staff meetings and professional development.
10. Collaborates with other staff members and other programs in the center.
11. Orders and manages supplies.
Term of Contract: Ten (10) Months
