Overview:
We are seeking energetic and responsible Camp Counselors to supervise and engage with individual groups of children during our summer camp program. Camp Counselors will ensure a fun, safe, and positive environment for campers while assisting in delivering activities designed to foster social, physical, and educational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide care for a specific group of children, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.
- Assist Youth Development Professionals in leading and actively participating in activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational enrichment.
- Serve as a role model by promoting positive behavior, teamwork, and inclusion among campers.
- Foster a supportive and fun environment where children feel encouraged to explore and grow.
- Monitor and manage group dynamics, addressing any concerns or conflicts.
- Assist in setting up, organizing, and cleaning camp activities and events.
- Communicate with camp leadership regarding camper issues, accidents, or incidents.
- Build positive relationships with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Adhere to all camp policies and procedures to maintain a safe and organized program.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is preferred.
- Enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for working with kids.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain flexible, calm, and proactive in a dynamic camp environment.
- Dependable and responsible, able to manage camper safety and activity schedules.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a camp counselor or in a similar role.
- Background in education, child development, or recreation is a plus.
Schedule:
This is a seasonal position for the duration of the summer camp program. Work hours will align with camp schedules, and the position is typically full-time during camp days.
