Job Summary:
The Municipal Community Pool Gate Guard is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the Willingboro Township Community Pool. This position ensures a safe and orderly environment for pool patrons by enforcing entry policies, verifying memberships or payments, and assisting with guest inquiries. The Gate Guard serves as the first point of contact for visitors and must provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all patrons and guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner.
- Verify memberships, resident status, and daily admission payments before granting entry.
- Maintain an accurate record of daily attendance and check-in logs.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations regarding entry, capacity limits, and prohibited items.
- Monitor gate area to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist in handling customer inquiries, providing information about pool hours, programs, and rules.
- Report any suspicious activity, safety concerns, or policy violations to the Pool Manager or designated staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance area.
- Assist with minor administrative duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Prior experience in customer service, security, or recreation preferred but not required.
- Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and enforce rules effectively.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and emergency response protocols is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training may be provided).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 25 lbs.
Compensation:
- Hourly rate: Based on experience and Township pay scale.
