PROGRAM:TENNIS INSTRUCTOR
Under the direction of the Tennis Coordinator, is responsible for the promotion, development, organization, planning and supervision of the department's tennis program and facilities for the youth and adults of the community.
- Instructs the fundamentals of the game at all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced).
- Assists in the planning and coordination of competitive matches and of local and USTA/MS tournaments.
- Assists in maintenance of the court areas.
- Performs all duties of Tennis Court Attendant during non-instruction period, as scheduled by the Tennis Coordinator.
- Keeps order and ensures all rules and regulations of tennis courts are observed
- other related duties as assigned
18 years or older. Must be mature. Responsible and dependable
Advanced playing ability with teaching experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of tennis rules and regulations.
Must wear proper tennis attire to include: Department staff jersey, shorts or sweatpants and tennis shoes
Knowledge of first/aid CPR helpful

Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to assist in the organization, development and coordination of tennis instruction program.
Ability to enlist the interest of concerned people and encourage their participation in the organized program.
Ability to establish and maintain helpful and cooperative relationships with associates and the public.
Ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate and informative reports
