Primary Function:
Under the direct supervision of the Parts Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing all duties to quality and productivity standards of Willis Automotive.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Empties trash as needed
- Answers telephones as needed
- General inventory control functions such as inventory bin checks, cycle V counts, & general bin cleaning
What we need from you:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Previous experience in dealership parts department preferred
- Hazardous material training & certification preferred
- Working knowledge of mathematical concepts
- Valid driver’s license and insurability required
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills required
