Stepdown nursing position at Willis-Knighton Bossier Health Center
12 beds in the unit
Patient types include Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Stroke, DKA, s / p heart cath, s / p aortogram / arteriogram
Patient ratio is RN : 1 : 3
Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff
2 years of experience required
First-time travelers accepted
Job Requirements
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
NIHSS preferred
Traveler must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
Skills in CVL management / placement, foley cath management, tube feedings, arterial lines, diabetes management, and drip titration preferred
Schedule Information
Weekend rotation : every other weekend
Mandatory 4 days one week and 3 days the next week
Possible rotations : 3 / 2 or 5 / 2
Time off requests : Up to 7 days, must extend contract for any full week of RTO
Only one weekend of RTO per 13-week contract
Will work 2 / 3 major holidays
No call required
Unit Specific Information
Floating to stroke unit and Medsurg (1 : 5-6) may occur
Orientation includes 2 days hospital and 1 12-hour shift on the unit
Charting system : Meditech Expanse
IV pumps : Alaris
Medication dispensing : Pyxis
Additional Details
Scrub color : Pewter
