LPN/Medical Assistant –Bariatric Clinic
Willis-KnightonHealth System is seeking a LPN/ Medical Assistant for the outpatient BariatricSurgery Center. This LPN/MA will provide customer-centered service to patientsin the WK Bariatric Clinic under the supervision of the Bariatric Surgeon andthe WK Bariatric Coordinator. The job responsibilities include but are notlimited to the following: Ensures all patient assessment demographics and data includingheight, weight, vital signs, current medications, etc. are complete and enteredin to EMR prior to their meeting with the physician, registered dietitian, orbehavior counselor; Greets patients fromwaiting room into exam rooms and prepares all necessary exam room supplies andnotes pertinent to the nature of their visit; Assist the physician with patientevaluation, exams, and procedures; Maintains work area, exam treatment rooms inclean, safe manner and restocks with supplies and sterilized equipment asneeded; Maintains inventory of supplies for exam rooms and office; Provides preoperativeteaching as needed for the metabolic and bariatric surgery patient; Assistsphysician in documenting pertinent patient health information during exam inthe EMR to reflect services provided; Assists in answering telephones alongwith rest of staff, whenever needed; Provides all other tasks and projectsassigned by physicians and bariatric coordinator: Exhibit competency in OSHA,HIPPA, HITECH, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, Information Management,Patient’s Safety and Quality Initiatives, Records of Care and Provision of CareStandards.
A Louisiana license is a requirementfor this position. The applicant selected for this position will be required toattend a hospital wide orientation as well as a department orientation uponhire.
