What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Per Diem position at Willis Knighton Health?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive Registered Nurse to work on an as needed basis. This individual must be a team player, have a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Our unit consists of ten beds and patients with a multitude of diagnoses. The patient population generally admitted to this unit includes but is not limited to acute and chronic respiratory diseases, with or without ventilators, congestive heart failure, renal injury that may require CRRT or HD, sepsis, and neurological issues. We serve both as a medical and surgical ICU. Your job responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, invasive/non-invasive monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasopressor/vasodilator drips, central lines, TPA administration, performing CRRT (once trained) and IABP (once trained.) We also work closely with our organ procurement agency. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. ACLS is required but can be obtained through our Training and Development Center free of charge to employees. You will also be required to obtain Stroke, CRRT, TPE, IABP and Impella certification within a year of employment. New team members with less than 1 years’ experience will automatically be enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program. A thorough orientation will be provided based on your experience and level of comfort and includes cross training to Stepdown and Stroke Unit.
