PT Activities Assistant – Williston Senior Center Job Summary
Purpose
Williston Senior Center provides meal services and socialization opportunities to qualifying seniors in the Williston area.
Reports To
The Activities Assistant will report to the Executive Director.
Job Overview
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Activities Assistant assists in preparation and roll out of various activities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Working hours for this position are Tuesdays, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with an occasional need for coverage on other operating business days.
**Please note that this is a very part-time position, working between 6-10 hours per week**
· Promotes an organizational culture that embraces the values of respect, care, support, effective, communication, teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and responsibility; and works with all staff to create and maintain a workplace environment reflective of such values
· Assist activities committee with development and implementation of activities, establishes monthly calendar of activities
· Assist in set up and tear down of facility décor for holidays and various events
· Creates content and articles for monthly newsletter
· Ensures library is clean and books are stocked appropriately
· Maintain electronic filing system for client records and obtain new annual client information as requested
· Facilitate all bingo related activities, including running bingo software, confirm valid bingo winners, handle cash, disperse winnings, distribute coffee and snacks
· Purchase related activities supplies with the discretion of Executive Director
· Assist with Meals on Wheels as a route driver as needed
· Other office duties as assigned, proper phone etiquette required
· Utilizes resources appropriately and adheres to all guidelines, policies, and procedures
· Additional responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate, this summary is not considered to encompass all responsibilities
Qualifications
· Fine motor skills
· Visual acuity
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily
· Ability to lift 50 pounds; push/pull weight up to 35 pounds with wheels; twist/rotate at the waist; continuously stand and walk; frequently reach at or above shoulder height; handle full/empty pots and pants
· Experience in activities planning preferred
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· Ability to successfully pass all pre-employment background checks
