POSITION: Biology Instructor
LOCATION: Williston, ND (on campus)

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, exempt, 9-month contract, benefitted position. After a preliminary evaluation period of 2 years, this position may become a tenure-track position.
BACKGROUND CHECK: Williston State College (WSC) does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.
The Biological Sciences Instructor will be responsible for teaching multiple sections of Anatomy & Physiology, General Biology, Microbiology, Ecology, Genetics, and other topics beginning August of 2025. These sections are either traditional face-to-face courses or asynchronous online courses.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and maintain competence in teaching biological sciences courses throughout employment at the college.
- Teach a course load of at least an average of 15 credits of courses each 16-week semester. Teaching courses during the summer term is optional for all faculty.
- Regularly evaluate student progress toward course objectives.
- Serve as academic advisor for some BIOL students within the college advisement system.
- Serve on college, divisional and program committees as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Biological Sciences; Biophysics, Biochemistry, Marine Science or a Master’s degree in another discipline and a 18 graduate semester hours in Biological Sciences.
- Computer software skills and Internet familiarity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Previous teaching experience for Biological Science courses.
- Well demonstrated public speaking and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook email and Calendar.
SALARY: $48,834 , dependent on previous experience and based on the WSC Faculty Salary Matrix.
