Hourly Wage: $15.00
Hours per Week: 16-40
Season: as early late April; as late as November
Status: Part-time or full-time hours are available; Seasonal, Temporary
Reports to: Director of Campus Services
Summary
The Summer/Fall Groundskeeper position is responsible for performing lawn care and groundskeeping duties, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties to ensure the WSC campus grounds and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Work assignments will be scheduled by the Grounds Crew Manager.
Responsibilities
- Mow, trim, edge, and rake lawn
- Weed landscaping arrangements and dispose refuse
- Plant flowers and foliage
- Pick-up refuse and dispose of properly
- Prune, trim, and water bushes and trees
- Sweep pavement as well as remove stones, trash, etc.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment including mowers, trimmers, hedge clippers, pruning shears, and chain saws
- Keep storage areas clean, stocked and organized
- Assist with campus-wide duties that may be assigned by Grounds Crew Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness perform work in all types of weather conditions
- Operate hand tools and motorized equipment efficiently and safely
- Work independently as well as under the direction of others
- Effective team player
- Remain flexible in working with change in priorities
Minimum Requirements
- 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Groundskeeping experience
