The Williston Northampton School, an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton Massachusetts, is a culturally diverse educational community serving grades 7-12. We are seeking to hire a full-time English teacher, with ELL experience, for the 2025-26 school year. Successful candidates will demonstrate thoughtful lesson planning, a creative approach to teaching literature, and a commitment to developing in their students critical thinking and writing skills. As a boarding school, Williston expects all teachers to be involved in our afternoon program (athletics or extracurricular activities) as well as student advising and residential duties depending on whether one lives on or off campus.
Strong candidates will have middle or high school teaching experience, preferably within an independent boarding school environment. Candidates should possess a bachelors degree in a relevant field and demonstrate a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, experience integrating technologies into the teaching environment, excellent writing and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. Candidates must be flexible and committed to fulfilling the unique set of duties required of boarding school teachers.
